About Eastport Photography

San Diego Wedding Photographer profile picture of Jess on stairs.I’m Jessica.  My journey into the arts began at the age of 18 when I was awarded a full scholarship to study film-making at an art school in Philly.  My experience of getting married to Bill propelled me into the world of wedding photography.  I loved letting my creativity flow while planning all the small details of my wedding and choosing just the right photographer to capture it all.  Now my obsession is with still images rather than moving ones.  My artistic inspiration has always come from music, movies, fashion editorials, and urban living.  I love music by The Smiths and the absurdness of their song lyrics.  I love the movie “Desperately Seeking Susan” for its amazingly cool 80’s punk rock fashion.  I love flipping through the latest issues of Vogue.  And I love cities like Philly and Brooklyn where I’ve been found hanging out on a rooftop with friends until the sun comes up.  I like things that are sassy and edgy but I also like things that are soft and feminine.  My goal as a wedding photographer is to tell your story with images that are inspired.  And maybe even with a bit of an edge.

I’m Bill.  My background is in engineering and digital imaging. I’m a gadget guy / computer guru and bring technical prowess to my photography.  I have a penchant for things that go fast, like muscle cars, motorcycles, and boats.  You might see me speeding around on a jet-ski, sailing on the bay, tinkering in my driveway with a Jeep, playing lacrosse with my son in the backyard, or teaching a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class.  I am a big sports fan – Go Ravens!  My artistic influence comes from amazing industrial architecture and classic films like “Rebel Without a Cause”, “Cool Hand Luke”, and “American Graffiti.”  I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina but then fell in love with Annapolis. After fifteen years there, Jess and I moved across the country to La Jolla, CA.  My goal as a wedding photographer is to deliver bold images with high impact that will be placed on your wall as art.  Jessica and I love that we’ve been able to build this wonderful business together and that we get to connect with our clients during the happiest time of their lives.

Our philosophy is that while technical prowess is important, it’s the artistic vision that makes a photograph truly beautiful.  We love working with clients who are fun, creative, and stylish. We can promise that we have no shortage of beautiful ideas for your shoot and that we will constantly strive to push the creative envelope.  We are looking forward to working with you!
