Wedding Photography FAQ

I’m looking to save money.  I don’t need an album or full day wedding coverage.  Can you customize a package for me?

We strongly feel that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. That is why all of our wedding photography packages include what we consider to be must-have items:  full day coverage, 2 photographers, an album, and a complimentary engagement session. Of all the items you purchase for your wedding day, your wedding photography is the only one you will keep forever.

Why do all of your wedding packages come with an engagement session?

Engagement sessions are great practice for you to get comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. They also give us a chance to get to know you before your wedding. Plus, engagement photos make great save the dates and thank you cards.

How many photographers will be at my wedding?

Two.  Jessica and / or Bill will be photographing your wedding. If something unforeseen should happen to one of them, they will provide an alternate skilled photographer to work as a second shooter.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely! Our passports are always ready and we love to photograph weddings around the U.S. and locations abroad. Certain destinations may be available at no additional travel costs, so please don’t hesitate to ask us!

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We can provide documentation to your wedding venue if necessary.

What type of equipment do you use?

We use professional Nikon equipment and come prepared with backup equipment. We always have at least two camera bodies, speed-light flashes, a variety of lenses, backup batteries, and extra memory cards in our bags.

Do we need to feed you at the reception?

It is certainly not necessary but definitely appreciated. We don’t expect the same type of meal that you are serving your guests. If you wish, you can arrange with your caterer in advance to provide “vendor meals.”

Can our family and friends take pictures during the wedding?

Of course! We encourage them to take pictures throughout your wedding day! We just ask that guests taking pictures respect our presence and the job we’ve been hired to do.

Do you edit the pictures we will receive on our USB drive?

Yes. All of the wedding pictures you receive will be edited. Pictures included in your wedding album or purchased as wall art may receive further detailed editing.

Do I have permission to print the images from my USB drive and post them on Facebook?

Yes. You will receive a print release with your USB drive. You are welcome to print and upload the images for personal use. We do however retain the copyright, so you cannot sell, edit, or use the images for commercial purposes.

Can we see all the images that didn’t make the “final cut”?

No. Often we shoot thousands of images and you would not want to sort through all of them. We carefully evaluate all of the images and only provide you with the successful images from the day. Sometimes people’s eyes are closed, the flash doesn’t fire, or someone walks in front of the camera and blocks the shot. We do not provide any of those images.  The images selected for editing and final delivery reflect our high standards.

How does the wedding album design process work?

When we meet with you to deliver your wedding images, you will be given a worksheet to choose the images you would like in your album. You can make simple requests with your images (use a particular image across an entire spread, use black and white version, etc). You will also have a chance to choose the album cover color and design. If you prefer, we can certainly choose the images for your album for you. Once the images are selected we create a beautiful design for your custom wedding album.

What will the wedding album look like?

Our wedding albums are professionally made using archival quality materials and feature handcrafted covers. Our Classic Series Album are 10 x 10 and have 16 spreads. Our Signature Albums are available in 11 x 11 and 11 x 14 sizes and have 20 spreads. Additional sizes and spreads are available. The pages lie completely flat when the book is opened and the pages are coated to be fingerprint and spill-resistant.

What is an online gallery?

An online gallery is filled with all of your final, edited images from your wedding day. All galleries are password protected and can be accessed through our Client Galleries Page. We encourage you to share the link and the password with family and friends so that they can view your pictures and order directly from the gallery. Basic prints as well as canvas wraps and wall art are available for purchase through the online gallery. Online galleries will be available for 6 months..

What forms of payment do you accept?

Checks, Cash, Credit Cards, and Paypal.
